Best-selling author R. O. Kwon talks with Kenyon Review editor at large Katharine Weber about Kwon’s timely novel, The Incendiaries. They also discuss the many paths to becoming a writer and the multiple forms a writer’s life takes.

R. O. Kwon is an American author who was born in South Korea. In 2018, she published her nationally bestselling debut novel The Incendiaries with Riverhead Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Katharine Weber is a widely published novelist and autobiographer. Before her appointment to the Richard L. Thomas Visiting Chair position at Kenyon College, she was an adjunct associate professor of creative writing at Columbia University’s School of the Arts, Kratz Writer in Residence at Goucher College, a lecturer in fiction writing at Yale, and a visiting lecturer in fiction writing at Connecticut College. Katharine is an editor at large for Kenyon Review and is on the Editorial Advisory Board of American Imago. She has served on the board of the National Book Critics Circle and is an associate fellow of Hopper College at Yale University. Her latest book is Still Life With Monkey (Paul Dry Books, 2018).
