In this month’s podcast, poet Maggie Smith and consulting editor Andrew Grace discuss balancing parenting with the writing life, rewriting fairy tales, the ins and outs of the poetry manuscript consultation business, and whether or not book-prize culture is good for poetry.

Maggie Smith is the author of two books of poems, most recently The Well Speaks of its Own Poison which won Tupelo Press’ Dorset Prize. She has received a Creative Writing Fellowship from the NEA and her work has appeared in Virginia Quarterly Review, Shenandoah, Paris Review, Iowa Review, Gettysburg Review, Massachusetts Review, and Indiana Review. She works as a freelance writer and editor and owner of Versed Creative Services and recently joined the Kenyon Review as a contributing editor.
