KR Podcast with Daniel Poppick

Daniel Poppick talks with KR’s own Andrew Grace about fragmented language, the life of a working poet, and his two collections of poetry, The Police and Fear of Description.

Daniel Poppick is the author of The Police (Omnidawn, 2017). His second book Fear of Description was selected by Brenda Shaughnessy for the National Poetry Series to be published by Penguin in 2019. His poetry appears in BOMB, the New Republic, Fence, Bennington Review, the PEN Poetry Series, and other journals. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and Kenyon College, he has taught at the University of Iowa, Coe College, and the Parsons School of Design, and has been an artist in residence at the MacDowell Colony and Yaddo. He currently lives in Brooklyn, where he co-edits the Catenary Press with Rob Schlegel and Rawaan Alkhatib.

Andrew Grace is an Editor at Large for the Kenyon Review. He is the author of three books of poems and his work has appeared in the New Yorker, Poetry, and the Boston Review among other journals. He teaches at Kenyon College.
