Sex with the Man on the Moon

Characters PONY THE NARRATOR: middle-aged man, originally from the West, but now "citified." PONY THE YOUNGER: younger version of the Narrator, as he was immediately after Vietnam. Should be sexy, but not handsome. ERIC: actor from Belgium, tall and dark. Speaks with an accent--but so it is gently stylized. Stage PONY THE YOUNGER and ERIC appear throughout the play. Directions are given within the text. There should be little scenery, if any. While there are no explicit sex scenes, the two young men's sexuality is always tempered by their foreplay, by their love of talking. PONY THE NARRATOR is always center stage--except when he paces around. It's important to understand the time aspects of the play. PONY THE NARRATOR's memories are of late 1960s and early 1970s. He meets ERIC in the 1970s. PONY THE NARRATOR is remembering all this long after that, in the '80s. Lighting should be agile enough to switch from the Narrator to the two younger men.
