Jamila Medina Ríos

Jamila Medina Ríos (Holguin, 1981) is a poet, prose writer, essayist, and editor. She won the coveted David Prize in 2009 with her first book of poetry, and a collection of her essays received the prestigious Alejo Carpentier Prize in 2012. A book of short stories as well as another of poetry, has appeared in Mexico. A former poetry editor for Unión Publishers, she lives in Havana.
