Tell the New York Times What’s What

Did you disagree with the selection of Toni Morrison’s Beloved as the greatest novel in the last 25 years? Were you wondering why your pet was ignored in the lineup? Well, now’s your chance to have your say. A British magazine, The Reader, is running a poll of American readers to try and find out what the best work of American literature, period.

Granted, this is a silly undertaking from the get-go, like all contests (What is “the best?”). But if you’re interested, pop on over to their website, and email The Reader at readers2@liverpool.ac.uk with your most treasured text. They will be displaying results with their accompanying comments.
